MJHS 7th and 8th Grade Girls Basketball Win BIG!!!!
Big Time Congrats to the 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams at Mokena Junior High. The 7th grade team has won both the Regional and Sectional title and is headed down state to compete in the State Championship. After being seeded 4th in the regional race the 8th grade girls pulled off an upset to win the Regional title last Friday, November 30th. This Wednesday, December 5th, the 8th graders will compete for the Sectional title at Summit Hill Junior High. They will then be headed down state this weekend. We are very proud of these girls who were not allowed to play last year due to 'district budget cuts.' This season they were allowed to 'pay to play' and their hard work has really shown through and paid off! Congrats to all!

I want to thank the new board and the administration for making it possible to bring back Extra-Curriculars. I assure you we will continue to fight to drive fees down further and hopefully eradicate them so all can participate.
Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.

Basket ball team, don’t worry about winning or losing. Enjoy one shot, one rebound attempt, have fun at it. If you have fun you will do well at anything you do.
If each team member does one nice shot, one good rebound the team wins no matter what.
Remember the other team is made up of individuals worrying, feeling the pressure just like you. You win if you have fun.
Rather than saying “good luck” I will say “have fun”! Go enjoy the game, the moment, your other team members.
If you think you can , if you think you can't , your right!
