Back to School: Important Dates for D161 Schools
The start of the school year is here, and Patch lists some of the significant days for the Summit Hill schools at the beginning of the year.
Believe it or not, the first day of school is right around the corner. And there's more than just showing up when classes start. Here's a list of some important dates for students attending the schools in Summit Hill School District 161, which includes Dr. Julian Rogus School, Arbury Hills Elementary, Frankfort Square Elementary, Indian Trail Elementary, Hilda Walker Intermediate and Summit Hill Junior High.
First day of school
Wednesday, Aug. 22.
Other Important Dates
Summit Hill Junior High School
- Tuesday, Aug. 14: Student schedule pick-up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 8 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 24: Picture day
Hilda Walker Intermediate School
- Friday, Aug. 17: Orientation from 9 to 10 a.m.
- Wednesday, Aug. 30: Curriculum expectation night for fifth-graders (time TBA)
Indian Trail Elementary School
Friday, Aug. 17: New student orientation is from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; returning student orientation is from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
Arbury Hills Elementary School
Tuesday, Aug. 28: School curriculum and expectation night from 7 to 8:15 p.m.
