Van Driver slips up in front of police officer
Ali Tahir, 27, Bolingbrook, was issued four traffic tickets after he made a wrong move at 191st Street and LaGrange Road.
According to the report, an officer was in his squad on 191st Street when he noticed Ali turn into the path of another vehicle while making a right hand turn onto LaGrange Road.
When police stopped Ali's southbound car, he allegedly said to the officer, "I'm sorry I did that. I won't do that again if you let me go."
The officer simply asked then for his driver's license, which came back suspended. Ali was ticketed for driving on a suspended license, failure to signal, improper turning and improper display of registration.
A check of the vehicle's license plate revealed that the van's plates were expired too. The vehicle, a 2000 Dodge Caravan, was owned by Mohammad Mian, Bolingbrook.
Mokena police ordered the vehicle towed.
Ali posted a $3,000 bond with an "I-Bond" card, and he was released.
