Business is Happening in Mokena: 2012 Year in Review
From grand-openings to fashion shows, the merchants in Mokena kept things fun for residents. Take a look at the feature stories and activities that keep Mokena residents coming back for more
The farmer's market brings a host of fresh goods each Saturday from April through October. It also drew a number of opinion submissions and several stories that highlight the specialty goods offered there.
Meanwhile, fashion shows and candy stores got us thinking about something fresh, something new in the air.
Businesses took advantage of fresh locations too. It was a chance to build a bigger customer base, while staying in the community that is home.
New tax laws in Cook County brought more business into Mokena.
Smiles were all around for new businesses, celebrations and outreach efforts.
As temperatures began to get a bit nippy, Mokena business supporters and businesses found ways to keep you warm and happy.
In the spirit of giving and encouraging family fun, the Mokena business community stepped up to the plate again.
Mokena Chamber of Commerce Administrator Gail Bastas said sadly several businesses shuttered their doors in 2012. They are:

- Metro Public Adjustment
- Paul E's Place
- Sugarless World, Ltd.
- The Brickman Group
- The Painted Poppy Events
