Charter Fitness Coming to Mokena
The gym franchise is coming to Mokena later this summer, to a new location in Brookhaven Marketplace.

Break out the sweat pants and slap on your workout gear, there's a new Charter Fitness location coming to Mokena this summer.
The Chicago company recently announced its latest location, which will be at 19816 La Grange Road, next to Brookhaven Marketplace. The 13,000-square-foot facility will feature strength training equipment, free weights, personal training and more.
“We’re very happy to be opening Charter Fitness of Mokena and proud to be part of the community,” said Dan Collins, Charter Fitness' Director of Sales in the release. “Charter Fitness of Mokena is going to be a great place to get fit and healthy. We invite everyone to come check us out.”
To celebrate the opening, Charter Fitness of Mokena is waiving the cost of joining the gym as a premium member. The cost of a premium membership is $19.95 per month.
The opening is part of Charter Fitness' recent expansion to more than 40 clubs in six states. The business expects to hire more than 200 plus employees in the coming months to handle the business' rapid expansion.

Please take the time to look at the pictures you post with your story and recognize that this new facility is being built in the former location of the Carpetland USA store and not Cardinal Fitness. I believe Charter took over the Cardinal location on 191st St. A more interesting story would focus on whether that location will remain, how can Mokena support 2 fitness centers from the same company, will the first location remain, what happened to Carpetland? This "story" as presented here is just a reprint of the company's press release. Lazy reporting.

Hi, Steve. We're working on more with this. We just wanted to get the word out, so people were aware. The area near Brookhaven Marketplace has a lot of people intrigued as to what's coming and going.
