Keep it classy, Mokena.

How can they be nonpartisan if they are part of an opposition group? Seems like a huge waste of our tax dollars, thanks Friends.

This group of incumbents won the last few elections with a suspiciously large percentage of the vote.. Over the years I’ve talked to many people here in Mokena concerning their views on this bunch. Out of dozens of people only one hesitatingly admitted that they “were alright”. Others I know doing their own unscientific research came up with similar results. There are only two possibilities to explain the apparent discrepancy. Either the people who commented were liars or the vote was manipulated by fraud. Whatever the explanation may be it’s obvious to anyone who has been paying attention the last few years that this group is not to be trusted. Way to much secrecy, keeping plans and policy “under the radar”. Only telling the public any information that by law must be revealed, never volunteering anything important like the details of the recent electrical aggregation plan such as the real reason the obscure electric providers are less expensive (hint: massive government subsidies), also the well connected players or speculators/ investors, a virtual who’s who of Wall Street, that stand to make billions off these deals. They only told you a small part of the equation with the stated reason being neutral, but they weren't neutral at all and did their best to cover it up. This whole ordeal reeked of dishonesty. They also never told us that the United States government has laid claim to all of our water resources with far reaching future ramifications.

The current Administration under Werner does hide their discussions and have been called out on this ! They have forgotten they do OUR business and should be open with discussion and issue !

Hey RAK , the Mayor and his Cronies cost the Taxpayers of Mokena $25,000 in the last Election by Violating a Mokena residents Civil Rights ! That's a Gross Waste of Taxpayer Money !

I know this is not the Southtown but I just read the article about the Petition Challenge on that sight and had to comment here also ! Mayor Werner cannot tell the Truth , he states in the Southtown Article that he RECUSED himself from the Electoral Board ruling on these Petitions when in fact he was ELIMINATED by the Chief Judge because he is a Candidate , Circulator and being Challenged himself ! Mayor just tell the Damn Truth, just once ! Your a grown man !

What an Ego this Werner has , his comment in the Southtown about how he and the members of the Electoral Board recused themselves is untruthful . In situations such as the one the Mokena candidates are in being challenged and as witnesses a judge selects/appoints the members of the Board . Werner is trying to act the Hero when again he only acts the Fool . What a Shame !

As the leader of our community I would have hoped Mayor Werner and Trustees Mazzorana,Siwinski and Metainias would have used great care into preparing their petitions . It concerns me that the inattention shown in the Petitions reflects the direction our community has been steered by these Incumbents . Challenges are occurring in many communities around us and almost all because of mistakes that could have easily been avoided if due care was executed in the preparation .

For you folks who wish to take a shot at Werner, you should remember how bad things were in village govt before he was elected mayor. The village board meeting was the best sitcom on tv. Now the village is run like a serious business. Call the village and you get a response to your concerns and action. A good case in point were the train horns. Big thing for us in town people. The board recognized this and our quaility of life is now better. When I called about this, I received at least three calls from the village, usually John Downs, keeping me advised as to the progress of allieviating the problem. Downs is one of the people targeted by the Di Fiore group. We should be thankful to have Downs leading our village. They say govt is best when it is close to the people. That's what we have now, don't mess with it. I have only one piece of advice for an incumbent ------ Siwinski, time to get a hair cut. You and your dentist friend need to look in the mirror.

Metanias and a few others should be finished....take off your football cap and go off into the sunset. It's like a party...time to leave. Good for Jim Giglio in challenging some things that were wrong.
