School Bus Rollover on Harlem

Deputies responded at 7:19 a.m. to a school bus crash on the 24000 block of Harlem Avenue in Frankfort. The bus was occupied by the driver and a 12-year-old female student from Crete School District 201-U. The driver said he lost control of the bus, sending it into a ditch, where it then swiped a tree and turned on its side. Both parties were treated on the scene and neither was transported to the hospital. The student’s mother took custody of the child. The assistant dean from D201-U was also present.

Police report information is provided by the Frankfort Police DepartmentWill County Sheriff's Office and other law enforcement agencies. Charges are not evidence of guilt. They are a record of police actions on a given day, and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. If you or a family member are charged or cited and the case is subsequently adjudicated, we encourage you to notify the editor. We will verify and report the outcome.

I guess the act of locking a car is just too much effort. Same as activating a turn signal.

good answer. they probably have a cell phone in one hand and a slurpee in the other, just can't reach the lock or turn signal lever.

Why would you leave high priced items in your vehicle. Especially Ipod and Ipad which are subject to cracking and failing due to freezing temps... Sounds like maybe they were hoping to get an insurance check...
