Lincoln-Way Black Friday 2012 Shopping Guide

You don't have to leave the Lincoln-Way area to find special sales on Black Friday.

 

Don't worry if you're too full to move very far the day after Thanksgiving—even if you want to participate in the mad rush of Black Friday, there are lots of local deals that will keep you in the Lincoln-Way area. 

Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is known as the unofficial start to holiday shopping and often features early hours, long lines and special deals. Here are what some local stores are offering:

NEW LENOX

Walmart

  • Opens: Store is open 24 hours, but deals will be staggered starting at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving with gaming electronics, toys, home goods, clothing and other gifts. At 10 p.m., phones, cameras and other electronics go on sale. At 5 a.m. Friday, larger items such as televisions and rifles will go on sale.

  • Front page deal: $148 for a 32-inch Emerson TV.

Michaels

  • Opens: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday; open again at 7 a.m. Friday
  • Black Friday ad: See it here
  • Front page deal: 50 percent off Christmas trees that are 6 feet or taller on Thanksgiving evening.

Target

Kmart

Lowe's

  • Opens: 5 a.m. Friday
  • Black Friday ad: See it here.
  • Front page deal: $99 for a DeWalt cordless drill (was $189).

FRANKFORT

Kohl's

Sports Authority

Office Depot

  • Opens: 5 a.m. Friday
  • Black Friday ad: See it here.
  • Front page deal: $279.99 for a Lenovo laptop.

Shop LW "ma and pa" shops!!! Cottage Creations Gift Shop is open Friday til 8pm.!

The local Patch should provide a shopping guide to all the local businesses, not the national chain stores. I agree with Marty & Liz, shop 'ma and pa'. Much more of the money spent in a locally owned business stays in the community.
