Manhattan Man Dies After 3-Car Accident in New Lenox
Bryan Bulger, 26, died after his car was rear-ended Wednesday night in New Lenox Township. Two other cars were involved in the accident.
A 26-year-old Manhattan man died Wednesday night following a three-car crash in New Lenox Township.
Bryan L. Bulger was pronounced dead shortly after he was extricated from his car and airlifted to Good Samaritan Hospital.
According to the Will County Sheriff's Department, Bulger and a 24-year-old female passenger were heading south on Cedar Road near Delaney Road in a black Chevy.
Bulger's car stopped at the stop sign to wait for a red Chevy driven by a 59-year-old Frankfort man to pass through the intersection while headed eastbound.
Meanwhile, a black Chevy driven by Jason R. Rymut, 31, of Manhattan, failed to stop in time and rear-ended Bulger's car, sending it spinning into the intersection, where it hit the Frankfort man's car.
Bulger and the 24-year-old passenger were extricated from the car after police responded at about 10:15 p.m. The passenger was taken to Silver Cross Hospital and was treated for complaints of neck pain.
Rymut was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The Sheriff's Department continues to investigate the accident. The Frankfort man and Rymut both refused treatment, police said.
