Missing Lockport Teen Last Seen in Worth
Family turns to social media for help in finding 15-year-old daughter.
The family of a 15-year-old girl missing since Sunday is turning to social media in the hopes of locating her.
Courtney Jean Arp is believed to be a runaway and was last seen around 8 p.m. Sunday near 113th Street and Ridgeland Avenue in Worth.
Courtney's primary residence is with her mother in Lockport, but she was visiting her father, Les Arp, in Worth for winter break when she went missing on Sunday. She is a sophomore at Lockport High School.
“She snuck out her bedroom window,” Les Arp said. “She is definitely a runaway.”
Courtney has not used her cell phone since Sunday, but has contacted a few of her friends privately on Facebook.
“As soon as they asked where she was at she terminated the conversation,” Arp said of his daughter.
Worth police are presently putting together a “missing person” flier for the 15-year-old girl.
Meanwhile, Courtney’s aunt put out this plea on Facebook:
“This is my 15 yr old niece, Courtney, last seen in Worth, IL. She's been gone for over 32 hours now. PLEASE let us know if you see or talk with her. Court - WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU. Please let us know you're alright...."
If anyone has seen Courtney, please contact the Worth Police Department at 708-448-3979 or the Lockport Police Department at 815-838-2131; or her family at 630-248-0481.
This story has been updated at the request of Worth police who are conducting the investigation.

The article states she has not contacted her dad and they don't know where or who she is with, as she snuck out her bedroom window. She is still missing as of today.

If she contacted friends on Facebook, then she has access to a computer and the internet, which means authorities can identify her IP address and ultimately the location from where the message was sent. It's certainly horrifying for the parent when a kid runs away from home, but then again, kids typically don't run away from home for no reason.

The article was published so the girl could be found. Can everyone focus on THAT instead of judging at this point. Prayers & positive energy go out to her & her family from mine.

So sad . Can't help but think that with young people the answer is somewhere on Facebook . Her friend says that she is going through a lot. U can see all the stuff right there .

As a parent of four children, ages ranging from 16, 18, 20, and 26, it iwould be a nightmare to wonder if your child is in harms way or not. I pray that this young girl think of the sadness and stress that her family may be feeling and just find the courage to call them to tell them you're okay. I hope they will all come together soon as a family should. May they find peace and strength during this hard time.

Can you get the parents on the news to issue a plea to her? I can only imagine how they are suffering. I have a child that is 15 and cannot begin to imagine.
