Mokena Resident Charged With Burglary Following Home Invasion
Derek J. Grossheider of Mokena was arrested and charged with burglary after a Mokena home was broken into early Friday morning.
A Mokena teen was arrested and charged with burglary Friday after a vacant home in the 19800 block of Center Street was broken into, police said.
Officers arrested Derek J. Grossheider, 19, of the 19900 block of Anna Street, after they found credit cards belonging to his mother in the garage of the Center Street home, Mokena Police Cmdr. Dan Rankovich said.
The burglary happened at 12:30 a.m. Friday, Rankovich said. The garage and a car parked on the street had also been broken into, but nothing was taken. Rankovich said a neighbor reported the burglary and told police he had seen two people outside the home.
Rankovich said police were following leads on the second person.
