LOOK: Mokena Struts Patriotic Stuff in Record-breaking Heat

Mokena Patch was at Mokena's annual Fourth of July parade, which marched along Wolf Road. Check out Patch's photos from the patriotic event and be sure to add your own, too!

Under a sweltering sun, residents from across the Southland—and country—lined both sides of Wolf Road in Mokena to watch as the annual Fourth of July Parade rolled by.

From vintage military vehicles carrying veterans down the road to local school bands to churches and politicans, more than 70 participating groups and organizations took part in the parade, which stepped off at 10 a.m.

If you couldn't make the parade, take a few minutes and flip through Patch's photo gallery from the event above. If you braved the heat and took some photos, add them to our gallery and show off your American spirit!

Think your red, white and blue attire is the best around? Show it off in our patriotic photo contest, for a chance at a $50 gas card!

Always a great parade! Many thanks to the parade volunteers who make the parade so well organized. Huge thank you to Parade Chair - Cindy Gamboa for her countless hours to ensure that all have a fun and safe time - both parade watchers and participants.

I have to say, the parade was awesome, despite it being approximately a billion degrees, give or take. Opinion 1, agreed 100%! A big round of applause to Cindy and everyone else who put the parade together. Domehome, the photos are great (I'm patting myself on the back, haha), but they're great because of the subjects in them: Mokena residents, businesses and organizations!
