Mokena Soldier Comes Home Sunday

Command Sergeant Major James Rogers will return from a one-year deployment in Afghanistan on Sunday.

At 8 a.m. Sunday at the Hickory Creek Metra lot, Mokena will welcome back one of its own.

Command Sergeant Major James Rogers is returning from a one-year overseas deployment this weekend. Friends, family and other well-wishers will be on hand at the Hickory Creek Metra lot, 9430 Hickory Creek Drive to escort Rogers home so he can enjoy some quality time with his family.

All Mokena residents are welcome.

Assigned to the 863rd Engineer Battalion Task Force Linebacker,  Rogers and his colleagues were in charge of clearing roadside bombs in Afghanistan. This was Rogers' second overseas deployment.
