Ex-Husband Helps Police Arrest Woman for Not Paying Child Support
Jennifer Starek, 39, of the 11300 block of West 191st Street, was arrested on an outstanding Cook County warrant for contempt of court for failure to pay child support after Starek's husband reported seeing her sitting in front of the 7-Eleven on South Wolf Road. Her bond was set at $41,000.
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8
Car Window Shattered
Patrick Fahey, 28, of Homer Glen, reported the front passenger window of his maroon Jeep SUV had been shattered with what he believed to be a mid-size rock he found near the vehicle, which was parked in the 18700 block of Old LaGrange Road. No items were found missing from the vehicle.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 9
Debit Card Fraud Makes Resident Close Bank Account
Melissa DeJohn, 34, of the 19300 block of South Wolf Road, reported to Mokena Police that her debit card had been illegally used earlier that day. Callng Harris Bank to close out the account, DeJohn found out that someone had made three separate purchases at the Walgreens pharmacy in Markham, totalling $420, an amount that drained her checking her checking account.
Dad Turns in Son on Cook County Warrant
Ahmad Zein, 25, of the 11300 block of Hummingbird Lane, was arrested at his residence on an outstanding Cook County warrant after Zein's father contacted Mokena Police.
