FRIDAY, AUG. 20
Busted Concert Goers
Five 17-year-olds and a juvenile received underage consumption and possession of alcohol citations after a concert in Tinley Park. An officer was flagged down by a driver at 191st Street and LaGrange Road at around 7 p.m. The driver pointed out a black Volvo with several juveniles in the car and said he saw a girl, who appeared intoxicated, urinate near the side of the BP gas station. The driver told police he drove himself and eight others to a concert in Tinley Park, according to the report. The officer smelled alcohol inside the car. A search of the car found an unopened can of beer, an open bottle of vodka and more beer, police said. All were released to their parents.
THURSDAY, AUG. 19
Expired Plates Finds Warrant
Adam J. Nigro, 27, of the 1600 block of Carlton Court in New Lenox, was arrested on an in-state warrant and also charged with driving without insurance and improper display of registration. An officer on patrol at the intersection of 191st Street and LaGrange Road saw Nigro's car with expired registration at 1:45 a.m. A name check revealed a warrant our of South Moultrie County, carrying a $1,500 bail, police said. Nigro was released on a bond for the warrant and an I-bond for the other charges.
SUNDAY, AUG. 15
Laura C. Quillnan, 31, of the 11000 block of West 191st Street in Mokena, was charged with domestic battery and possession of drug equipment. Police were called to the address at 8:30 p.m. when a witness was confronted by Quillnan. Quillnan pushed a man and woman, according to the report. As Quillnan was being processed, police saw that one of Quillnan's bags contained three pipes and a dugout, all of which contained cannabis residue, police said.
Another Domestic Battery
Kathy S. Swisher, 52, of the 11000 block of West 191st Street in Mokena, was charged with domestic battery. Police were called to the Dairy Queen at 19165 S. LaGrange Rd. regarding a fight. The accuser approached the officer and showed im a scratch near her right eye, according to the report. She had contacted Swisher after her credit card was denied at the Dairy Queen and took a bag out of Swisher's car. The accuser later stepped in front of Swisher's car and was struck by the front end of the car.
FRIDAY, AUG. 12
A resident in the 18700 block of Crystal Creek Drive reported that her laptop was stolen the night before between 10:30 p.m. and midnight. The victim had friends over as well as three other guests. The three others went upstairs, were asked to come downstairs and told to leave, which they did, according to the report. Then the laptop was noticed to be missing.
WEDNESDAY, AUG. 10
DUI-Drugs and Alcohol
Michael A. Jefferson, 33, of the 10800 block of West Lincoln Highway in Frankfort, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol. An officer saw a car traveling slowly compared with the other traffic at around 1:15 a.m. The officer began to follow the car and saw the car swerving. The officer pulled Jefferson over in the 20200 block of South Wolf Road. The officer smelled alcohol on Jefferson's breath. The officer also smelled burnt cannabis coming from Jefferson's clothes. Jefferson failed field sobriety tests and admitted to smoking cannabis, according to the report. He was also issued traffic tickets.
