Rock Out at The Hub's Grand Re-Opening this Friday
The Hub staff welcomes all ages to the open house festivities.
The Hub, a nonprofit community center designed for teens and young adults, is planning a three-day grand re-opening. It's an open house filled with DJ music, live bands, food and video games, said Dan Stinnett, president.
It's been a rocky road for the community center that opened in 2008 and closed last December because it didn't have money for a $3,700 special use permit from Will County. Still the New Lenox community and surrounding towns, including Mokena, Frankfort and Manhattan have been supportive.
After a hiatus that lasted several months, The Hub President Dan Stinnett has gathered enough funding to re-open the popular teen hangout.
"The Hub's grand re-opening is planned for Sept. 15-16. In addition to concerts for young people on Friday and Saturday, we're going to have three days of open houses. We want the entire community to have a chance to see The Hub."
Here's the scope on the open house
- Friday, Sept. 14, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 15, 3 p.m.-6 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 16, noon-3 p.m.
There's still plenty of time to put this safe haven for young people in the black by voting in the Chase Bank $250,000 giveaway. Just click the link on The Hub and follow the three-step process. Voting is open until Sept. 17.
