VIDEO: Take a Tour of the New L-W Transition House
We walk through the new facility for young adults with special needs before its April 9 dedication.
For Sally Bintz, executive director for Lincoln-Way Special Education District 843, this Saturday—the day the Lincoln-Way Transition House at 310 Colorado Ave. will be dedicated—will mark both an ending and a beginning.
It's the end of all the hard work that started three years ago to get the ball rolling on a community-based transition house that helps young adults with special needs move smoothly from high school to adult life.
But it's also a beginning, as the program now can help Lincoln-Way students 18-22.
We took a tour of the transition house with Bintz, who talks about the features in the new facility and how it will help students.
