Vote: What Was the Best Super Bowl Commercial?

While south suburban residents cheered on local products in the Super Bowl, major companies showed off their products in the commercials. Tell us who had the most memorable ad.

From post-apocalyptic Chevy owners to Elton John as a Pepsi-dispensing king, last night's Super Bowl was full of memorable ads.

We at Patch weren't that excited by the ads, though. We've seen a lot better. We recap some of the more memorable ones below, but if you liked something better (from past or present) tell us in the comments).

Here are a few of our favorites. Pick which one topped your list. Watch all the commercials here.

Slow mo Doritos slingshot baby

No other way to say it: A grandma used an infant as a human slingshot to steal Doritos from a snotty child.

Chevy after the blast

In this Silverado ad, Chevy owners mourn those who did not make it because they had the wrong car.

Matthew Broderick's career off

Matthew Broderick, the star of such films as Ferris Bueller's Day Off and... that other one, re-creates as much of his most famous role as he can without violating the movie's copyright.

LED headlights ruin vampire barbecue

Vampires, once terrible monsters of our nightmares, take a break from tween romance lit to hawk some cars.

Jerry Seinfeld brings back the Soup Nazi

In this Acura ad, Jerry tries to bribe his way to getting the first of the new model, but is stymied at the last moment by a man who need no more cars.

I can't believe you didn't mention these too...the M&M commercial and the Doritos where the Dog buried the cat, and Bud's We-go dog. Those were my top 3. But did like the Chevy commercial, then the VW where the dog trains to lose weight, and also liked Bud's End to Prohibition ad with the Clydesdales. Thought The Voice commericalit was lame in the beginning, but loved Betty White at the end. Who doesn't love Betty White? :-)

Doritos Dog buried the cat and Volkswagon dog training commercial. The You tube full version of Brodericks commercial much better than the 30 second spot aired.

I haven't watched all the commercials despite the pressure to see advertising as art and entertainment. But I have to say the Clint Eastwood / Chrysler Halftime in America is inspiring. This commercial works at healing the huge divisions within our country and is NOT a buy-me-buy-me ad, but rather pulls us together and urges us to get on with it.

I liked the vampires getting killed by the LED lights but only because they played Echo & the Bunnymen, "The Killing Moon." Great song!

As someone who voted for Reagan both times (this was before internet access), Reagan's administration is one of the least principled in history. Over 138 of his adminstration officials were investigated, indicted, or convicted during his presidency. A record! The most notiable is selling arms to the Islamic Republic of Iran. How is that for treason? Don't forget illegal aid to right wing contras. Can't help but support the right wing, no matter how much they hate America. Obama likes to kill our enemies not arm them.
