Southland Community Associates of the Art Institute of ChicagoRelease date: November 1, 2012          The Southland Community Associates of the Art Institute of Chicago invites the residents of the Southland Area to a series of six study group lectures.  The first program is, "Demonstration: Creating a Painting" by Phyllis Kozlowski, artist.   This lecture will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Freedom Hall, 410 Lakewood Blvd., Park forest, IL.   Please note the first two events will be held on the second floor.  There is no elevator.   These are the only presentations on the second floor.        The programs begin at 10:00 a.m. preceded by coffee at 9:30 a.m.   Tickets for non-members of the Southland Community Associates of the Art institute of Chicago are $15.00 for each study group.  Tickets can be purchased at the door. Checks only are payable to the Art Institute of Chicago.  Call Lesley Rokaitus at (708) 599-3744 for further Information.   The Art Institute of Chicago's website is www. ARTIC.edu/AICmuseum.        Future study groups will be,"Demonstration: The Figure in Watercolor" by artist, Tom Francesconi is held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.  February 6, 2013, Dr. Arthur Bourgeous,Lecturer, will present a program on," Abbeys of Europe, Old and New".  Jeff Stevenson, lecturer, will speak on the topic of, "Art Gathering" on Wednesday, February 20, 2013.  March 6, 2013 brings the program, "The Enduring Role of Sculpture in the Public Sphere" by lecturer, Geoffrey Bates.  Stan and Jan Moore will conclude the series onMarch 20, 2013 with a program titled, "From Cottage to Castle in Scotland".        Please join us for a pleasant and informative experience. Kay Shannon
