[title of show] (Musical Theatre)
Governors State University Center for Performing Arts, 1 University Pkwy, University Park, IL | Get Directions »
$27.00
"[title of show]" is presented by Governors State University's resident theatre group SLATE (SouthLand Area Theatre Ensemble).
A musical about two nobodies named Hunter and Jeff who decide to write a completely original musical starring themselves and their attractive and talented ladyfriends, Susan and Heidi.
Their musical, "[title of show]", gets into the New York Musical Theatre Festival, becomes a hit, gets an Off-Broadway production, and wins three Obie Awards!
"[title of show]" is a postmodern homage to the grand tradition of backstage musicals like "Babes in Arms", "Kiss Me, Kate" and "A Chorus Line".
And with the Center for Performing Arts' cabaret seating, SLATE performers and audience members get the chance to share the stage together.
The Southland Area Theatre Ensemble (SLATE) was founded in 2008 with the goal of educating, enriching, and entertaining the surrounding communities.
Its founders are dedicated to providing a superior theatre experience for the performers and audience alike.
Chicago's Southland continues to experience an art renaissance, from galleries and sculpture parks to live music and theatre.
SLATE is proud to be part of this rich arts community.
