Lincoln-Way Central High School's homecoming is marked with the 5th annual 5K run/walk.

Homecoming Week begins Sept. 22 with a parade. The 5K run/walk is scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Hickory Creek Barrens located at Schoolhouse Road and Route 30 in New Lenox.
Check in time is 8 a.m. Participants are advised to arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. to check-in and receive the race bib and t-shirt.

The start and finish line will be right outside of the pavilion. The course will run through the woodlands of The Hickory Creek Barrens with a turn around point at the halfway mark. There will be a water station on the course and refreshments at the finish line, according to Stacy Holland, community relations director for Lincoln-Way High School District 210.

A pre-race registration fee of $15 (t-shirt included) form is available at the high school main office and at local Manhattan and New Lenox schools. Day of the race registration fee is $20. Dogs and strollers are welcome. Children under the age of 10 participate for free.

For more information and to register, contact Katie O'Connell at kboconnell@lw210.org. Registration is due by Sept. 20.
