St. John’s Youth Volunteer at Shepherd’s Table

On Saturday, June 15th, several youth and adults volunteered to prepare and serve lunch at the Shepherd’s Table in Joliet.  Shepherd’s Table is a part of the Daybreak Center serving Will, Grundy, and Kendall Counties.  Shepherd’s Table feeds members of the community who are hunger and are unable to provide for themselves.  A free mid-day meal is served by volunteers.  Our church made seafood chowder, mixed green salad, sandwiches, and cake.  We served about 75 people and enjoyed our opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus to others.
