St. John’s Junior High VBS

St. John’s United Church of Christ held their “Kingdom Rocks” VBS last month.  The Junior Highs focused on mission work during the week.  The youth learned from 1 Thessalonians 5:11 that God calls us to “encourage each other and build each other up.”  In response, the teenagers wrapped 678 Beenie Baby toys for the Children’s Hunger Fund.  The toys were wrapped in Christmas paper and will be sent to needy children all around the world.

The Junior Highs also meet with Therese Galvan from House of Hope Illinois to learn about this home for teenagers in crisis.  House of Hope Illinois offers hope and help for teens and families through Biblical counseling, mentoring, residential education and prayer.  Our church donated 8 Teen Study Bibles to this mission, remembering God’s “word is a lamp to guide our feet and a light for our path.”  Psalm 119:105
