Mokena's annual Clean-Up Day April 27 brought together community and natured. With garden gloves, shovels and plenty of spirit, the community came out to spruce up the town.

Village officials, Scouts, tots and teens, police officers and more, the residents of Mokena joined forces, stooping down to collect debris, planting flowers and sharing a meal of hotdogs, chips and soft drinks at the end of the day at Village Hall, 11004 Carpenter St.

The Community Affairs Commission sponsored the day.
