Power Outages Reported Throughout the Chicago Suburbs

As of 9 a.m., ComEd is reporting 105 active power outages throughout its northern Illinois region

Communities throughout the Chicago area are experiencing power outages Thursday morning, according to the ComEd power outage map. 

As of 9 a.m., ComEd is reporting105 active power outagesthroughout its northern Illinois region. A pocket of outages were being reported near Woodridge and Darien, Glen Ellyn and Wheaton and in the Elmhurst area, according to the outage map. 

In each of those communities,fewer than 100 customers were affected by the outages as of 9 a.m., according to the outage map. 

The southern suburbs appeared to be harder hit by power outages Thursday morning. 

As of 9 a.m., 571 customers were reporting outages in the Chicago Heights area, 276 customers were without power near Harvey and 233 customers were without power in the area of Oak Forest and Tinley Park, according to ComEd.

Meanwhile, 95 customers were without power near Crest Hill — just northwest of Joliet — around 9 a.m., according to ComEd's outage map.
