3 Floors of Music Planned for Frankfort Bluegrass Festival Fundraiser

The proceeds will benefit the Frankfort Bluegrass Festival, to be held July 12–13 at Breidert Green.

Organizers of the annual Frankfort Bluegrass Festival want to keep the event free—but they need the funds to run it.

The group will hold a fundraiser Friday, May 16 at Smokey Barque, 20 Kansas St. The event will feature live music on three floors of the restaurant, to be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Admission for the all-ages event is $15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Live bluegrass bands will perform in the main floor bar and banquet space on first and second floors. The basement bar will be an open performance space were musicians can bring their instruments and play.

Bands slated to perform include Dog 1, Sunnyside Up, Bluegrass Escape and Not Far From the Tree. The fundraiser also features raffles, spit the pot, silent auction, food, and cash bar. Tickets can be purchased at Down Home Guitars, 11 S. White St., or online

All proceeds raised directly support the free community festival held on the Breidert Green, July 12–13, 2014. Find out more about the festival and how to become involved
