Battle of The Bands @ 191 South | Multiple Thousand Dollar Grand Prize

191 South 2012/2013 Battle of the Bands - New Bands Tryouts.Out of Focus Entertainment and 191 South, a premier live entertainment venue located in Mokena at 10160 191st Street is hosting its 2012/2013 BATTLE OF THE BANDS!   The Battle of the bands places the areas top musicians, cover bands and original bands head to head for a multiple thousand dollar grand prize!Bands that have played before at the venue are automatically entered into the competition if they are interested.  This year, we are opening the competition up to New & Upcoming talent that may yet to be discovered!Out of Focus Entertainment is now booking Tryouts for bands that have never played at 191 South, but are looking to get into the competition!   A tryout show will occur, and based on your score in a variety of topics from judges, your band can move on to the competition for multiple thousands of dollars!Rules for entry"► The tryouts are open to any band that has NOT ever played at 191 South or Murphy's (Its previous name)► The tryouts will take place on Sunday Nights.► Bands will be required to play two 50-60 minute sets. (9:30pm-10:30pm & 11pm - 12am) ►All members of the band & any affiliated crew must be 18 years or older.  191 South Management and Out of Focus Entertainment must be notified of any band member under the age of 21.   The actual event is a 21 and over only event following all Illinois Liquor  Laws.  No Guests under the age of 21 will be admitted to the event.► Any genre of music is acceptable, however 50% of the bands songs must be cover songs for the tryouts, which is the proven type of live music entertainment preference at 191 South.► Bands must provide their own PA system. The leased system by 191 South or any of its equipment will not be used for any of these shows. Should the band not have their own PA system, 191 South's least sound equipment can be used by the band with one of the leasing company's  techs for a small fee which the band will be responsible for paying. There is no guarantee that the sound company is available on a certian Sunday, so bands that need a PA, Out of Focus Entertainment will coordinate a Sunday date for them when the sound is available.► Judging will be based on a number of criteria including Fan/Crowd Draw, audience response, stage presence, vocal abilities, energy, etc. A more defined scoresheet will be provided to the bands so they are aware exactly of what they will be judged on.► Judging will be on a points system. I am opening this up to 15 bands (15 weeks).  The top 10 will move on to compete with the proven bands to 191 South in the actual battle. There will also be a minimum amount of points the band must score to even be considered.Only 15 Bands will be booked and entered into these tryouts.  Bands interested should email info@outoffocusentertainment.com  along with any band media or links to media to be entered into this competition.  Dates will be filled on a first come first come first serve basis.
