Local Musician Needs Votes to Win Metal Guitar God Contest

Guitarist and Lincoln-Way Central alumnus Matt Motto needs local support to get past Stage 2 of the Metal Guitar God 2013 contest.

Mokena musician Matt Motto made it past the first stage of the Metal Guitar God 2013 contest. Now he could use a little local help to take it to the next level.

Motto, a 2008 graduate of Lincoln-Way Central and currently a sound engineer at Lincoln-Way West, needs votes to advance to the Metal Guitar God finals.

"Music had always been something that I felt a connection with unlike anything else," Motto said. "I love having the ability to envision a song in my head and have it become a reality. I am fortunate enough to be involved with the very best musicians I know whom also happen to be my closest friends."

Any one can vote for Motto once daily for the next three weeks. Click here to cast a ballot for Motto.

Motto also plays in a band called Dissona, teaches music and records bands at his studio.

While at Lincoln-Way Central, Motto was the chamber master in the guitar studio for two years, played guitar in the jazz band, won several awards and was chosen to perform in the SWSC Jazz Band.

Motto said he and Central's guitar instructor, Nate Jackson, make up half of a classical guitar quartet that performs summertime concerts on the New Lenox Commons.
