Boot Scooters Dance the Mokena Fest

The Boot Scooters, our local line dance troupe, booted the stage at the Mokena Farm and Barn Fest for the fifth year, Saturday, August 17, under sunny, blue skies for a festive crowd of onlookers and participants.  The Boot Scooters dance in Maxine Nowobilski's advanced line dance class for the Mokena Park District on Friday afternoons. The women enjoy entertaining their local communities with line dance shows as a way of giving back.  Nowobilski taught two beginner line dances, "Cut a Rug" and "Country As Can Be."  She and the dancers performed "Back It Up" by Dan Morrison and finished their show with the "Skate Dance," danced to "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me'" by Keith Urban. The Boot Scooters are accepting line dance bookings after January, 2014.  Photography supplied by Kim Redek.
