Easter Bunny Visits Allegiance Bank

The Easter Bunny hopped by the Mokena bank this weekend for photos, refreshments and fun.

In the spring, where there are bunnies, there are sure to be children. Both were on hand this Saturday as kicked off the Easter season.

The Wolf Road branch held its first “Photographs with the Easter Bunny” event on Saturday. Children came out to have their picture taken with the legendary leporid, enter a coloring contest, and snack on cupcakes and milk.

“This is a community bank,” said Sharon Krupske, the branch manager. “We do a lot of community events, but this is the first time we've hosted the Easter bunny here.”

The staff will determine coloring contest winners by Monday, and one boy and one girl will receive a special candy filled Easter basket. All of the children who participated received an activity book to take home as well as a goody bag, a frisbee and a piggy bank.

The event was an apt addition to Allegiance's commitment to teaching children the importance of saving.

“We go to schools and teach children at an early age to start saving,” Krupske said.

She visits Noonan Academy and Kids Station monthly to give presentations, at which, children are able to open savings accounts with as little as $5.

Coloring at the bank, Alex Rossberg, 9, of Tinley Park, wasn't thinking about things that would fit into his piggy bank. When asked what he hopes to get from the Easter bunny in a few weeks, he replied with a shrug, “One year I got a bike.”

To which his mom, Christy Lamacki added, “Now he expects a bike every year!”
