From IT Certifications to Resumé Work, New Training Center Is Here to Help

Mokena residents, and people across the south suburbs, looking to lock up their IT certifications, polish their resume or get a few tips on office computer programs have a new resource in Mokena's Certificate Training Center.

When 20-something and businessman David Termunde gets an idea, he doesn't just sit back and ponder. He runs with it.

Take, for example, his newest business, . Termunde opened its doors on April 13, just five weeks after he was struck with the idea of an IT and resumé training facility in the south suburbs.

“There's nothing like this anywhere in the southwest suburbs,” Termunde said. “Everything is in the north side or in the northwest 'burbs. We're one of the first in the south 'burbs.”

“We're looking at anybody unemployed, people that want to create a better resumé, people looking to better skills,” Yone said.

Along with working with the customers on resume and IT work, people can also rent rooms or workstations at the CTC for their own personal use. Yone said that there are 12 dedicated computer workstations, visual aid materials and a hands-on workshop area in the rear of the facility.

“Say they wanted to do some other type of training, we can do that, too,” Yone said. “We also have a nice lounge, where people can study or eat.”

Termunde said that he's extremely pleased with how things have gone in the first months that the business has been open and spoke glowingly about Mokena.

"They're very welcoming here for a new businesses. It was easy to work with the Village and everyone is very nice over here," Termunde said. "I'm glad that we're here, because I know Mokena needs business. We can offer some great services to help advance people's careers."
