Meijer to Hire 900 Illinois Workers

The jobs can be a "gateway to a full-time career," says Meijer's vice president.

Shopping giant Meijer plans to considerably up its Illinois team with the hiring of 900 new team members to staff their expanding store base and for seasonal support.

The Grand Rapids, Michigan-based company currently has two Southland locations—Orland Park and Evergreen Park—but they plan to open at least two more superstores in Mokena and Flossmoor.

“While many of these opportunities are part-time, these jobs can provide a gateway to a full-time career at Meijer,” Kevin Wiederhold, vice president of human resources for retail operations said. “As we continue to grow, we are frequently looking to fill our on-going part-time and full-time needs. These positions provide a great opportunity to get your foot in the door and demonstrate success within a growing company.”
