Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter Chunky is being recalled in several states, including Illinois, due to possible salmonella contamination, according to a Fox News report.

The 16-ounce jars recalled have "Best if Used By" dates of Aug. 3, 2012 and Aug. 4, 2012, plus the production codes 1307004 and 1308004, Fox reported. They would have been purchased within the last week or so.

In Mokena, was told by Smuckers on Thursday that none of the affected product had been shipped to their warehouse.

had not been informed by their distributors whether they were part of the recall as of 11:50 a.m. Thursday.

Berkot's Super Food's management said their distributors inform stores of all recalls within the day. Brookhaven Marketplace's management pledged to remove all jars from the shelves if it turns out they are part of the recall.
