Pizza Playoff Runoff: Fixing the Poll Glitch

After a software glitch ate thousands of votes in our Pizza Playoff poll, we're picking the most-loved pizza in Mokena and Frankfort in a way machine error can't touch—reviews from our readers.

They say it's not who votes, but who counts the votes.

In to determine who will represent Mokena and Frankfort in the battle for the most-loved pizza in the Southland, all those votes were counted by a tiny little piece of software that went haywire during a recent site update. Thousands of votes simply vanished or were randomly reset.

While we work the gremlins out of the polling program, let's pick our winner in a way that isn't so subject to machine error—the thoughts and words of you, our readers.

Our sincere apologies to the residents and business owners who saw their votes in this poll disappear.

The Pizza Playoffs contest was intended as a fun way to showcase some hometown pride for one of the things the south suburbs do best.

With your help, your reviews and—for some of you—your taste buds, it still can be.
