Ribbon Cutting, Opening Date Set for Mokena Meijer

Meijer will mark the openings of two, 190,000-square-foot stores in Homer Glen and Mokena with ribbon-cutting festivities Tuesday, July 29.

Residents eager to check out the new Meijer store in Mokena, 11305 Lincoln Highway, don't have much longer to wait.

Meijer is opening its new 190,000-square-foot supercenters in Homer Glen and Mokena, Illinois, and is hosting July 29 ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each location with Meijer officials and local dignitaries, as well as donations to local organizations.

The new stores, each with a garden center and 24-hour gas station, will create more than 600 new jobs (300 at each store) in the Chicago area and provide local residents high quality products and fresh produce, meat and dairy delivered daily. The new full-service pharmacies will offer a free prescription program as well as clinical services and immunizations designed to promote family health.
