Artist's Way 12-week Course Offered at Evilena's Red Dresser

Cathrine Schipman of Monee, IL always knew she loved repurposing. She'd made a bathroom vanity out of an ornate dresser and she loved creating home decor out of sand, rocks and sticks. But it wasn't until taking The Artist's Way 12-week course at Evilena's Red Dresser in Frankfort that she rediscovered her passion, and now is making beautiful coffee tables and kitchen islands out of old discarded wooden crates and pallets.

"I guess I just lost my interest in doing things like that [repurposing furniture] because I was so busy raising my kids and babysitting for others," Schipman said. "The class helped me remember how much fun I had doing furniture projects, and one thing led to another and pretty soon I was making items from reclaimed materials and selling them at Evilena's," she added.

A new session of The Artist’s Way will be offered at Evilena’s Red Dresser, 59 West Bankview Drive, Frankfort, IL at 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays, January 8, through March 26, 2014. Certified Life and Wellness Coach, Kristin Eaton will facilitate. Eaton inspires people to live in accordance to their life's purpose. “I guide and foster individuals through positive psychology which provides the foundation to discover their innate gifts while unveiling their life's purpose,” she said.

The Artist’s Way is a best-selling book and course that was originally developed in the early 90s by Julia Cameron and quickly grew into a movement helping millions of people around the world to recapture their creativity. The course investment is $150 plus the cost of a book (about $15 on Amazon). For more information, go to www.EvilenasRedDresser.com or Facebook.com/EvilenasRedDresser or call 815-464-4426.
