Deb Stearns, president of the Bremen Township School Trustees will speak at Saturday's meeting.
Township school trustees hire a Township Treasurer, set his/her salary and benefits, preside over the lease or sale of school property and receive financial reports from the Treasurer. There is no salary for the position and there is no relationship with Township Government, except in having the same boundaries. The Trustees actually have no money of their own, but they approve the investments of school districts’ funds made by the Treasurer.
Because of the recent problems of the Bremen Board, this should be an interesting meeting.
The meeting is open to the public.
