JCA May Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to announce its May Students of the Month

Joliet Catholic Academy is proud to announce its May Students of the Month, Sarah Adler (Rotary Club of Joliet), Dana Koerner (Kiwanis Club of Joliet), and Anthony Salata (Joliet Noon Lions Club).

Sarah Adler is the daughter of Chris and Lori Adler of Joliet. Sarah has a GPA of 3.92 on a 4.0 scale. Sarah has been a part of the JCA Honors Program, an Illinois State Scholar, a Joliet Chamber Top 25 student, a member of National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Spanish Honor Society. She has been awarded in Spanish, Computer Fundamentals and hand bells. She has been playing volleyball at JCA for 4 years and basketball for 2 years. She has been a student ambassador, Kairos leader, a member of the Respect Life club, March for Life participant, and a member of the Math and Scholastic Bowl teams, as well as Key Club and Varsity Club. Sarah was also selected to join the Joliet All-Area, All-State Honorable Mention Volleyball, and  the ESCC All-Conference Volleyball teams. After JCA, Sarah plans to attend Butler University to earn a degree in Speech Pathology.

Dana Koerner is the daughter of Daniel and Mary Koerner of Joliet. Dana has a GPA of 4.71 and is a Patrick Quigley Scholarship Recipient. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta and is also a Top 25 student. Dana has been a team member and captain of the JCA tennis team. Dana is a Student Ambassador, Key Club member, a member of Respect Life Club, and a host for the Spanish Exchange program. She has also been a Kairos leader, an Illinois State Scholar, and a volunteer and Student Ambassador at Provena St. Joseph’s Hospital. After JCA, Dana will be attending St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. She will be majoring in Nursing and hopes to become a nurse practitioner.

Anthony Salata is the son of Richard and Kathleen Salata of Bolingbrook. Anthony has a GPA of 3.26 on a 4.0 scale. Anthony has been a member of Mu Alpha Theta, has been a member and captain of the JCA Track and Field team, and has been a part of Varsity Club and Relay for Life. After high school, Anthony plans to attend Western Illinois University and pursue a degree in Law Enforcement/Justice Administration with a minor in Homeland Security. He has plans to become either a part of the FBI, Secret Service, or the Department of Homeland Security to branch out to counter-terrorism in the FBI.
