Feedback Friday is the weekly look back at the stories that got Mokena talking.

The story that generated the most site comments this week was about .

Another big talker was .

What a great story. This is what it is all about! Finally news worth reporting.

Congratulations, Lauren on not only raising the most money but for being so brave and committed to such an awesome cause! You are an inspiration to kids AND adults! Great job!

also got some tongues wagging.

Each week, the segment will show an undeveloped or vacant area of town to get readers brainstorming future uses. This week, we looked at the vacant lot north of .

My suggestion would be a nice hotel or motel. The location is right off of I-80 and this would bring in other business such as eateries and shopping. A hotel with a banquet hall would be another venue for weddings and business events. An indoor pool or waterpark that would be available for members of the community would be nice as well.

Anything at this point!

was also a big deal this week.

There were just under 20 comments total but, I don't know, I just really liked this one.

Kudos to the board members and the Mokena residents that made this happen. Special thanks to those not afraid to take a stand on an issue resulting in a great opportunity for our local merchants.

We also . (Side note: If you're a vendor looking to sell at the Front Street market, e-mail mokenadowntownmerchants@yahoo.com.)

I would love to see more "Mokena" in the market. Perhaps a booth for the Mokena Historical Society. Pehaps the Friends of the Library could have a booth for a book sale every sat. Entertainment schedules would be nice. The Market could sponsor a Historical tour of the Village and surrounding sites. An outdoor area for people to sit and enjoy coffee and other food items.

Here is Mokena's chance to show other communities what a Front Street Market should look like! Consider offering a blend of local businesses "showing off" good old fashioned farm town charm with authentic food and beverage booths, fresh cut flowers, fresh fruits and veggies, a Historical tour is a must (walking, trolley or horse drawn carriages!) and of course, entertainment for kids of all ages such as music, sack races, hula hoop contests, games (something like a mini fair every Saturday).

I would like to see fresh fruits and vegetables, along with some fresh flowers. I like the ideas that others said about making it like a mini fair every Saturday with a little something.
