Weekends are slow days across the Internet, as readers selfishly spend time with their friends, families and other loved ones rather than continually re-check their favorite sites.

To me, the coolest part of covering this story was seeing how the whole of l got into the geography bee. Kids had cheering sections for their friends, made their own signs and just really hooted and hollered for every correct answer. We've got photos of all of that.
