Mokena Business Owner Wins National Executive of the Year Award

Central Collision Center is proud to announce the company’s president and owner, Mike Caruso, is the recipient of the 2013 FenderBender Executive of the Year Award. The FenderBender Awards, in their sixth year, recognize the most talented, dedicated and inspirational professionals in the collision repair business.

Since founding his business in 1981, Caruso has built Central Collision from a one-shop facility in Peotone, Ill. to a thriving six-shop operation in the Chicago area. Throughout the company’s growth, Caruso has made a point of maintaining a small-town, family feel. Central Collision has also given back to its communities through food drives, fundraisers, event sponsorships and other activities.

Caruso credits his company’s culture and dedicated employees for the company’s success.

“Out of our 85 employees, 16 percent have been here 15 years or more and 11 percent are second generation employees,” Caruso said. “We’ve built a family culture at Central and that is one thing that will never change, even as we expand our business.”

Award honorees were nominated by their industry peers and chosen by FenderBender editors from a nationwide pool of candidates. FenderBender magazine is the nation’s leading collision repair magazine, serving nearly 50,000 collision repair centers nationwide with its monthly print publication.

“We had no shortage of deserving nominees for this year’s FenderBender Awards, but Caruso rose to the top in the executive category,” said Jake Weyer, editor of FenderBender. “Professionals like him keep the collision repair industry moving forward, and help inspire others in the industry.”
