I Love Mokena: What Do You Want to See at the French Market?

Welcome back.

We've recently discussed suggestions for new businesses in our beautiful little village. An impressive number of ideas were received, and continue to come in.

A few of the more recent submissions mentioned farmers' markets. For the last nine years Mokena has hosted a French Market at parking lot. 

The seasonal French Market has many of the staples you would expect to see at an outdoor market. Fruits, vegetables, flowers and other freshly grown or artisan type prepared products are available.

This is a great opportunity to reach out for additional suggestions. Friends and neighbors, here is your chance. Send me a note and tell me what types of vendors you would like to see peddling their wares at the French Market. If its a product or service that you've encountered at other outdoor markets then by all means let me know where that is.

As promised, I have contact information for another suggested new Mokena business. Erbert and Gerbert's Sandwich Shops have been around for more than 20 years. They have more than 50 locations in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North and South Dakota and Georgia. If you're a fan of the movie "Fargo" you may recognize some of the towns where they've set up shop.
