Aurora Man Pleads Not Guilty to Sex with Teen in Mokena Park
Steven L. Sly, of Aurora, may be ordered to undergo psychological testing before trial due to his years in combat.
An Aurora man accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl in a Mokena park pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of criminal sexual abuse.
Steven Sly, 22, of the 2100 block of Lilac Lane, was charged in late November after .
Mokena police said they discovered the couple together in the back seat of a car while on patrol in in late November.

According to court records, Sly holds the rank of lance corporal in the Marine Corps. An instructor from Fort Sheridan has requested that the court allow 45 calendar days to complete a medical evaluation on Sly for post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury, due to a “history of combat service deployment.”
Sly was indicted on three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Bail was set at $25,000.
