Crime Alert: Graffiti Bandits Strike En Masse

Five homes had gang-related graffiti damage, police said.

Gang-related graffiti was found spray-painted on a fence and shed near the railroad tracks in the 10400 block of Aileen Avenue.

According to Mokena police, the spray-painting took place sometime during the overnight hours from June 4 into June 5. A brick mailbox and a man's work trailer also were sprayed with black paint.

Additional graffiti was found in the 19400 block of Fiona Avenue, where gang-related markings were seen on a pickup truck and on a garage.

The homeowner of the garage reported that he has seen increased numbers of juveniles walking through his property from the railroad tracks. According to the report, the victim said these juveniles were smoking, carrying Airsoft guns and throwing furniture in the street. 

Police did not have any suspects at the time of this report.
