Boyfriend, Girlfriend's Mom Involved in Altercation...

Joshua A. Cerrone, 21, of the 10700 block of Green Meadows Drive, was arrested on charges of domestic battery, after an incident in the 10700 block of Green Meadows Drive involving his girlfriend's mother.

When police arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim, who said that Cerrone came home with her daughter at about 4:30 a.m., and burst into the victim's bedroom. The victim said Cerrone began yelling at her, putting his hands around her throat, before they began to push and shove one another.

She said Cerrone then threw her over a chair and into the kitchen wall, where they continued to argue with each other. 

Cerrone said that he and his girlfriend were out celebrating his 21st birthday, when they came home and noted spilled alcohol all over the kitchen. Cerrone said he became upset because the victim was supposed to be watching his girlfriend's 2-year-old daughter, which is why he was trying to speak with the victim when she became irate and came after him, according to reports.

Police noted that both the victim and Cerrone appeared intoxicated, with bloodshot, glassy eyes and slurred speech.

The victim admitted that she had one or two glasses of wine during the night.

Police noted several marks on the victim's throat, arms and face, and after speaking with both Cerrone and the victim, placed Cerrone under arrest for domestic battery.

Cerrone was booked and then taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a bond hearing.

Police also contacted DCFS regarding the intoxication of the victim while caring for a child.

Dawn F. Panos, 62, of the 13900 block of S. Laramie Avenue, Crestwood, was charged with domestic battery, stemming from an incident in the 10700 block of Green Meadows Drive at 11:30 p.m. The incident followed an earlier domestic battery arrest at 4:30 a.m. at the same location.

At the scene, police tried to gain entry to the apartment, but were unable to be buzzed in. Police went to look into the ground-level part through an adjacent balcony.

While peering into the apartment, officers saw Panos shoving and yelling at the victim, who was attempting to buzz officers in. Officers heard Panos tell the victim, “You're not letting anyone in here,” as she shoved the victim.

Eventually the victim was able to admit officers, at which time they spoke to the victim and Panos.

Panos denied ever shoving the victim, despite officers telling her that they witnessed the incident. Panos was taken into custody and placed in the back of a squad car, while officers spoke with the victim.

The victim told officers that Panos, her Aunt, and Panos' sister, the victim's mother, had been drinking wine most of the day and yelling at the victim for the prior incident earlier that morning, involving Joshua Cerrone, who was arrested earlier in the day for domestic battery against the victim's mother. The victim said she left the apartment with her child and returned at 11 p.m., when Panos and the victim's mother continued to chide her about the earlier incident.

The victim said she locked herself and her daughter in their room, at which time Panos began trying to gain entry to the room, prompting the victim to call the police.

Panos was taken to the Mokena Police Department, where she complained of chest pains and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital. Once she was released, she was taken back to the police department, where she was booked and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility to await a bond hearing.
