MONDAY, JUNE 25

Headbutting Isn't the Answer

Thomas J. Hogan, 24, of 206 Hamilton Ave., Frankfort, was charged with local ordinance battery, following an incident in the 19100 block of Weber Road. According to the victim, Hogan was dropping off the victim's roommate at their home, when he became aggressive and an altercation occurred. The victim said Hogan headbutted him, causing a bloody nose and some bruising under his eyes. The roommate who was being dropped off said she did not see the incident.

Hogan came into the police department and said that he did headbutt the victim, but only because he came at him in a threatening matter. He was charged and released on $750 I-bond, pending a court date on Aug. 13 in Frankfort.

SATURDAY, JUNE 23

Hard Work Environment at Ace Hardware

Scott C. Youdris, 44, of the 8900 block of W. Dralle Road, Frankfort, was charged with battery after a former employee of Ace Hardware, 1160 Francis Road, filed a written complaint against him. The victim said that on more than one occasion, Youdris had instigated several incidents with the victim—including slapping her on the butt with a bank bag, attempting to touch her breast and making lewd comments.

Police contacted Youdris, who then came into the Mokena Police Department to make a statement and was then charged with battery.

Youdris was released on $1,000 personal recognizance, pending a court date.

THUESDAY, JUNE 21

DUI Fender Bender

At 5:43 p.m., police were dispatched to Speedway,18700 Wolf Road, for a property damage incident. Police were flagged down by a victim, who said she was driving down Wolf Road when she was rear-ended at the stoplight at 18600 block of Wolf. Police talked to William J. Ledwell, 42, of the 11600 block of Roberts Road, who told the officers the accident was his fault and he was sorry.

Police asked if Ledwell if he'd been drinking, which he admitted to having two beers at Rockwelz. Police performed standard field sobriety tests at the scene, which Ledwell did not pass. After the tests, Ledwell admitted to having three beers at Rockwellz and one shot at Cool River. He asked the officer if he could leave his truck at the scene and just get a ride, at which time he was arrested.

He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, too fast for conditions, failure to reduce speed, accident-property damage. He was released on $100 I-bond pending a court date in Joliet on Aug. 1.
