Mokena Man Caught Red-Handed With the Goods: Police Blotter

Caught in the act

Eduardo Villogomez, 19, of the 19300 block of Thornham Lane, was charged with burglary after he was caught red-handed with the goods. According to the report, someone on Scarth Lane, notified police in the wee hours of the morning about a man pulling on car door handles.

Villogomez allegedly found three unlocked vehicles, two on the 19400 block of Leetrim Court and another on the 19500 block of Scarth Lane. From the vehicles he stole two pairs of sunglasses, valued at $420, a $30 sweatshirt, a couple pair of ear phones, valued at $20 each, a $20 hunting knife and a $17 bottle of cologne.

Police spotted him in the 1900 block of Scarth Lane. He matched the description provided by the caller. In his pocket, police said they found the loose items. He also had the sweatshirt with him. He was charged with two counts of felony burglary to a vehilce and one count of criminal trespass. Villogomez was taken to Will County Jail where bond was set at $35,000.

FRIDAY, DEC. 7

Driving on a revoked or suspended license

Lyle Skala, 37, Lockport was stopped in a random registration check at LaGrange and LaPorte Roads. A computer check of his name revealed that he was driving on a revoked or suspended license. He was further cited for driving without a valid registration.

THURSDAY, DEC. 6

DUI and Possesion of Drug Equipment

Police arrested Philip Reitz, Jr., 31, after a near accident with a police squad. According to the report, Reitz was approaching the intersection of LaGrange Road and 191st Streeet when he nearly struck an eastbound squad car. Polcie pursued and stopped him on 191st Sreet. He was charged with DUI and possession of drug equipment.
