Mokena Police Blotter: Driver Has Too Many Air Fresheners; $10K Seized in Pot Deal

FRIDAY, MARCH 16
Too Many Air Fresheners
Joseph F. Rafacz, 27, of the 11600 block of Seminole Court, Mokena, was charged with driving an uninsured vehicle, driving with a suspended license and driving with an obstructed window shortly after midnight March 16, police said. Officers pulled Rafacz over on Front Street near 114th Avenue after seeing several items hanging from the rearview mirror, according to police reports. Officers "observed several air fresheners and what appeared to be necklaces hanging from the rearview mirror," the report stated in part.

No Lights Leads to Drug Arrest
Nicholas D. Blaszczyk, 20, of the 700 block of Dartmouth Lane, New Lenox, was arrested and charged with marijuana possession after officers pulled over a car he was driving at 3:16 a.m. March 14 at Francis Road and Glennell Avenue for driving without his lights on, police said. His 16-year-old male passenger was also arrested, according to police reports.

Marijuana and $10,000 Cash Siezed
Jarrett C. Rueth, 20, of the 19800 block of Scarth Lane, was charged with marijuana possession and delivery of more than 30 grams of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school after officers disrupted an alleged “hand to hand” drug sale at about 6 p.m. March 13 at a parking lot on the 10800 block of LaPorte Road. Officers also seized a metal grinder and more than $10,000 in cash, according to police reports.

Man Charged With Possession
Michael P. Roache, 22, of the 19400 block of Kylemore Lane, was charged with marijuana possession after officers arrested him at about 8:30 p.m. March 12 in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 11200 block of 195th Street, according to police reports.
SUNDAY, MARCH 11
One Headlight, One Gram
Michael J. Murphy, 20, of the 100 block of Walnut, Frankfort, was charged with marijuana possession after officers pulled him over at about 10:15 p.m. near the intersection of Wolf Road and Lincoln Highway for driving with one working headlight, according to police reports.
THURSDAY, MARCH 8
L-W Teens Charged With Disorderly Conduct
A 16-year-old Frankfort boy and a 15-year-old Mokena boy were charged with disorderly conduct after an incident in the 21900 block of Heritage Drive, according to Frankfort police.
Mokena Man Served With Cook County Warrant
Kenneth J. Pedersen, 22, of the 9100 block of West Willow Lane in Mokena, was arrested near the intersection of 88th Avenue and St. Francis Road for an outstanding Cook County warrant, according to Frankfort police.
