Mokena police reports, April 16-20

FRIDAY, APRIL 20

Marijuana, Equipment Violations

Nick A. Blazina, 21, of the 20200 block of Lismore Circle in Frankfort was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and tinted registration cover. Police said they spotted a hitter box in plain view after stopping Blazina’s car in the 9600 block of 195th Street around 11:30 a.m. for driving with a tinted license plate cover. A digital scale and 7.5 grams of marijuana were also confiscated from the car, according to the report.

Felony Marijuana Possession

Gabrielle N. Overstreet, 20, of the 7700 block of Garland Court in Frankfort was charged with felony possession of cannabis. Police said they found 30.5 grams of marijuana after stopping Overstreet’s car at Kevin Avenue and Willow Lane around 9 p.m. for speeding and rolling through a stop sign.

Reports of Damage, Theft

  • The owner of a trucking company told police that sometime between March 20 and April 20 a gray trailer was stolen from an industrial lot in the 8300 block of 191st Street.
  • A truck owner told police that sometime between 3 p.m. April 13 and 7 a.m. April 16 the rear passenger side door handle and lock of his vehicle were broken. It was parked in the 19100 block of 85th Court at the time. Nothing was reported missing.
  • On April 16, a horse veterinarian told police that horse tranquilizers, steroids and medication were missing from the truck he had dropped off nine days prior to be repainted. Four employees of an auto repair shop in the 19200 block of 85th Court were listed as suspects, though no charges were filed.
