Mokena police reports, Dec. 18-23

FRIDAY, DEC. 23

Stolen Tools

At least 11 construction tools were stolen from a 2007 green Chevy van parked in the 21700 block of London Bridge Drive over the night of Dec. 22 and 23, police said. The owner of the car showed officers where someone punched out the lock on the rear door. Tools reported stolen include six saws, a compressor, nail gun, hammer drill and two screw guns.

Violated Protection Order With Limo

Patrick J. Payanoff, 51, of the 11800 block of London Bridge Drive in Mokena, was charged with violation of order of protection. Police said Payanoff parked his car within 1,000 feet of his home, where he has been forbidden by court order to return, and may have opened the garage. He was found around 7 a.m. sitting in a limousine in his driveway.

Hit and Run

Jeremy G. Albertsen, 30, of the 5800 block of East Lake Drive in Lisle, was charged with hit and run, failure to reduce speed to avoid accident, operation of uninsured motor vehicle, no valid registration and driving on a suspended license. Police said Albertsen rear-ended a car at LaGrange Road and LaPorte Road around 2 p.m. and fled. Witnesses told police he pulled over in a nearby shopping mall because his hood popped open and prevented him from seeing. He had alcohol on his breath but passed field sobriety tests, police said.
